TILE is a manufactured piece of hard-wearing material such as ceramic, clay,stone, metal or even glass. tiles are genrally used for covering roofs, floors, and walls or other such objects such as tabletops. floor tiles are typically set into mortar consting of sand , cement and often times a latex additive for extra strenght. the space between the tiles are filled with sanded or nonsanded grout, traditionally mortar was used.
TRAVERTINE a natural stone,that is characterised by pitted holes, although these pitted holes accour naturally, some can be purchased "filled" or "unfilled." It can be polished to a smooth, shiny finish and comes in a variety of colors from grey to coral-red. Travertine is most commonly availble in tile sizes for floor installtions. Travertine is made from calcite or a compressed limestone and steam, harder compression of limestone without steam results in marble.
GRANITE is a common and widely- occurring type of intrusive felsic , igneous rock. Granites are usually a white or buff color and are medium to coarse grained, occasionally with some indivisual crystals larger than the ground mass forming a rock known as porphyry. Granite is nearly always massive, hard and tough , and its for this reason it has gained widespread use as a construction stone. Granite has been extensively used as a dimension stone and as flooring tiles in public and commerical buildings.
